Report a Fault

We’re sorry that something isn’t quite right. We want to fix it so you can be happy and comfortable in your home again.

It’s an emergency

Emergencies are situations where ongoing damage is being caused to the property, or there is a risk you might get injured. Here’s what to do if you’re in one of these emergency situations:

Evacuate the property immediately and then phone the National Gas Emergency
Service on 0800 111 999. Call us right after.

If you become aware of a leak in your property, immediately turn off the water using the stopcock. Turn the stopcock in an anti-clockwise direction to switch off. If possible, use a bucket to collect the water. Call us right after.

Phone our emergency number if there is a significant amount of water - 0131 220 5241

Get in touch with your neighbour and get them to turn their water off so no further damage is done. If you can’t contact the neighbour, call the City of Edinburgh council on 0131 200 2000. Call us right after.

If you have no water coming into your property, it is likely to be an issue affecting the whole building and the surrounding area. Phone Scottish Water on 0845 600 8855 for advice. Call us right after.

Evacuate the property and then phone 999 immediately. Call us right after.

If you’re in an emergency situation that isn’t listed above, please give us a call on 0131 220 5241 during the week and 079125117 weekend.

Don’t worry if our office is closed. Call and listen to the recorded message. It’ll give you numbers for emergency contractors. You can call them and organise for them to come to your home directly. If you’re not sure about what you need, they’ll be able to advise you on the phone.

If you arrange for an emergency contractor to come to your home and it turns out it wasn’t an emergency, we’ll charge you for the cost of the emergency call out fee. But don’t worry, when you talk to the contractor on the phone, they'll be able to advise you on your situation.

It’s not urgent

Tell us what’s going on by completing the form below. Once you’ve hit SEND, sit down with a cuppa and a biscuit. We’ll look for the best solution for you. We’ll send you an email to tell you about the next steps.
